Why do we need to keep our body’s hydrated?

Water is an essential nutrient even though it is often left out of discussions pertaining to our body’s nutritional needs.  Water makes up roughly 50%-70% of our body and roughly 80% of our brain.  Water is so important to our body that it is only second next to oxygen on the needs in our body.  Water is used by the body as a building material, solvent, lubricant, and helps regulate our body temperature. It is used by the body in the aid of digestion and helps bring nutrients to our cells along with removing wastes from our system.

Drinking 3-4 litres of quality alkaline water per day will keep you hydrated and transform your health.  Continually staying hydrated will dramatically improve the way you think and feel!  Don’t believe me, try it out for yourself.  Drink 3-4 litres of healthy alkaline water

Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water. Drinking coffee, tea or soft drinks dehydrate the body. Water is necessary for proper hydration.

Those are just some of the benefits of keeping a well hydrated body, would any of those benefits interest you?  Now, of course we also need to let you know what the signs are of a dehydrated body.  If we wait until we are thirsty, we are already dehydrated.  Below are some of the signs that pertain to be dehydrated.
Signs of a Dehydrated Body

  • Fatigue
  • Muscle weakness
  • Poor concentration
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Decreased metabolism
  • Dry mouth
  • eyes stop making tears
  • Sweating may stop
  • Muscle cramps
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Heart palpitations
  • Weakness
  • Decreased urine output

We do not need scientific information to know that water is essential for life, it is engrained in us.  However, we are marketed heavily on a regular basis of drinks such as pop, juice, coffee, alcohol, etc.  These are not a good way to hydrate our body and most very much dehydrate our body.  I have heard some experts say it takes at least 30 glasses of water to flush one can of pop through our system.  Not to mention most of these other liquids are acidic and not good for our bodies.

SO….we encourage you to drink lots of water and if you can, make sure it is alkaline water and watch the difference in how you feel!
